My Devolution series challenges the anthropocentric and strict notions of evolutionary science and its hierarchical framework as a form of progress. Slight gestures render discrete forms that reference a multitude of genres and that appear to evolve – or devolve on the paper surface, reading as mutations of matter. This body of work continues conversations between the abstract and the recognizable through extended conjurings of visual phenomena.
